Women In Prison Away Day
Client – Women in Prison
Time – 8 hrs
Participants – 50
Facilitated by myself and Abi Green from the Conscious Project, the purpose of the away day was to bring the staff team together to continue to strengthen the organisational culture with a focus on a caring culture. Our intentions were to bring staff together to connect with each other, care for each other and build confidence across the wider team.

Human connection, empathy and creativity are all important ingredients for a thriving company. However, they can often be hard to foster when business priorities and goals are given the spotlight on repeat. The challenge with an away day is how to authentically cultivate new connections, whilst keeping in mind strategic goals and outcomes.
-
There were 2 distinct parts to the exploration - setting the upcoming strategy process in the context of a culture that WiP chooses, and engaging with a creative task (creating aromatherapy bottles) to proactively attune to a caring culture. Equally important was the overall experience of the day which was designed with care and connection in mind at all times.

By the end of the day there was greater sense of understanding and admiration across teams of the work taking place within the organisation, as well as an appreciation of each individual employee. We landed by reconnecting with partners from the beginning of the day and ending on a high by giving and receiving handmade gifts that communicate care for one another.
